✨ New feature alert
You can now view your organisation's Microsoft Power BI reports directly within Onefile Eportfolio.
Overview
The Power BI Integration allows organisations to surface their own Microsoft Power BI reports within Onefile Eportfolio.
Rather than creating reports within Onefile, this integration enables you to connect a Power BI workspace that your organisation already owns. Published reports are then displayed within a dedicated Power BI Reports area on the Eportfolio Reports Hub.
This provides users with access to business reporting and learner management tools from a single location.
Key Features
- View your organisation's existing Power BI reports within Eportfolio.
- Access reports without switching between systems.
- Use Power BI's existing permissions and security model.
- Search available reports within the selected workspace.
- Open reports in full-screen mode.
- Automatic session refresh to support long-running report sessions.
How Access Works
The integration uses Microsoft's User Owns Data model.
- Users sign in with their own Microsoft account.
- Power BI permissions remain managed in Microsoft.
- Row-level security continues to work exactly as configured in Power BI.
- Users only see reports they already have permission to access.
Important Information
⚠️ Important: Onefile does not store a copy of your Power BI reports, Power BI data, or Microsoft credentials.
The integration simply displays reports that the signed-in user is already authorised to view.
User Roles
The Power BI Reports area is intended for staff users with access to reporting functionality.
This typically includes:
- Centre Manager
- Assessor
- Internal Verifier
- External Verifier
- Administrator
Terminology
