Accessing and Managing Learner Learning Journals

Overview

Tutors and Assessors can support learner development by accessing, reviewing, and contributing to their Learning Journals in Onefile Eportfolio. This includes providing feedback, creating entries, and approving or rejecting submitted journal activity.

Who Can Use This Feature?

This feature can be used by the following user roles:

  • Trainee Assessor
  • Assessor

Steps

Accessing the Learning Journal

  1. Go to the learner’s Portfolio.
  2. Click Learning Journal to view their entries.

Providing Feedback on an Existing Entry

  1. Open the journal entry that requires feedback.
  2. Click the Feedback tab.
  3. Type your comments into the Add feedback text box.
  4. Click Add feedback.

➕ Creating a Journal Entry

  1. Click Give some feedback to support their learning.
  2. Complete the following fields:
    • Title
    • Category
    • Date
    • Time
    • Duration
  3. Add comments in the Type your reflection here box.
  4. (Optional) Click Criteria to link any relevant criteria.
  5. Click Link Activity and select the appropriate activity.
  6. Click Create to save the entry.

✅ Approving or Rejecting a Journal Entry

  1. Open the journal entry requiring approval.
  2. Click the Feedback tab.
  3. Add your comments into the Add feedback text box.
  4. Click Approve or Reject Journal to complete the action.

Tips & Notes

  • Rejected entries return to the learner for editing and resubmission.
  • Criteria linking helps align journal entries with relevant learning aims/standards.
